The night has come to an end, and I’m standing back watching Nash doing his thing. I have to admit tonight did not go how I thought it was going to. Now I’m glad all the effort and planning I put into this evening has led to a successful night, but I am even happier about what happened in the alley.

I’m still aching—my body’s exhausted.

My mind wanders back to feeling Nash inside me, and I am reliving the sensations he brought out of me.

Suddenly, Novah pops up in front of me, breaking me from my thoughts. “Hey!”

I jerk back, more from shock than anything. “Oh, hey… are you enjoying your night?”

Novah looks through her lashes at me like she has some sort of bone to pick. “You and Nash looked cozy together.”

I try to fight my smile, but I can’t hold it back. “We may have had a moment.”

Novah giggles, gripping my hands and bobs up on her toes. “I am so happy for you, Bri. You’re perfect for him. You’ll keep him on the right path.”

“I don’t know about that exactly.”

“You will. I’m sure of it.”

Nash’s stepbrother, Bayou, who I met earlier in the evening, steps up while undoing his tie, looking pretty damn disgruntled. “Seriously, can we go now?”

“You’re so grumpy.” She frowns. “Yes, let’s go get some ice cream or something?” Novah rolls her eyes, and I smirk as she loops her arm with Bayou, and they walk off, leaving me on my own again.

I turn back to watching Nash saying his goodbyes when Lucas steps up to me. “So… how’s things?”

“Good. I think tonight went well, don’t you?”

“Better for some of us than others, wouldn’t you say?”

I squish my brows together. “What do you mean?” Panic washes over me that somehow it has gotten out about our indiscretions in the alley.

“You and Nash looked mighty cozy out on the dance floor. Is it safe to say you’ve worked out your issues?”
